Organizing your closet should follow three simple steps and give the consumer the benefit of being able to find the clothing that they are looking for and match outfits together that they have worn in years. Here are some simple tips that you can use to organize your closet and start to make the most of your wardrobe.
If you haven’t worn it in six months than you are more than likely not going to wear it in the future, right? With the exception of seasonal pieces which are most often worn once per year, if you have not had the piece of clothing on in six months it is time to make a donation or sell the item to fund another clothing investment. Most people only wear up to twenty percent of their clothing pieces the majority of the time and therefore you should be making the most of the other 80% of the wardrobe.
To determine which items that you wear and which items that you do not wear take a tip from expert organizers. Use hangers hat are on the rack backwards to determine which pieces of clothing that you wear, when you wear an item than replace the hanger on the rack on the right side. This will be able to tell you which items of clothing that you are not wearing, in case you are unable to determine this fact.
Group like things together in the closet – shirts, pants and other types of dresses should be grouped together to allow you to find these items in the closet and to also deter you from buying the same items again!
